Handmade Wax Seal Necklace

This is a wax seal necklace, made with a little whimsical heart on a rustic pendant. I created this piece from fine silver wax (.999 pure silver), shaped it with a traditional wax seal (used traditionally to seal a wax drop on the closure of an envelope). I then fire the piece in my kiln to harden the silver to its nearly pure form (99.9%). After oxidizing the surface, I tumble and then polish the piece to provide a lovely antiqued patina.

Pendant measures approximately (this will vary from piece to piece although each is made with the same volume of silver clay at the beginning of production): 14mm.
